Crooked Civil Servants? Say It Ain’t So
Welcome to the real world. In the land of "breaking news" its now official there…
You thought lack of accountability was a problem soon many agencies of UK government will get permission slips to engage in criminal actions against people. Feeling safer yet?
NOTE: the UK Parliament logo is a prison gate. Is that a clue?
“criminal conduct authorisation” is an authorisation for criminal conduct in the course of, or otherwise in connection with, the conduct of a covert human intelligence source.”
(5)A criminal conduct authorisation is necessary on grounds falling within this subsection if it is necessary—
(a)in the interests of national security;
(b)for the purpose of preventing or detecting crime or of preventing disorder; or
(c) in the interests of the economic well-being of the United Kingdom.
Pretty much ANYTHING can be classified under national security, preventing or detecting crime or of preventing disorder and in the interests of the economic well-being of the United Kingdom so it’s open season?
Yes there are limits and qualifications built in but REALLY…is there to much chance this will be wildly abused?
